The Music Goes Round and Round . . .

Ever wonder how a name is chosen? Take Kids’ MusicRound, for example – a cute, very catchy name for a company specializing in teaching children’s music! I’ve never asked or just didn’t catch the thought process behind coming up with this terrific branding. Barbara told me the other day and it makes perfect sense!
The mission of Kids’ MusicRound was to not only instill the lifelong love of music and all the benefits gained from this in children, but to make it a family affair – have the music live on, going around and around from generation to generation. What a terrific idea – something future children and their families – then as an adult to hear a song and have it take you back to a wonderful time and place.
Think back over many generations and what uses music and song had long, long ago. Before written word, music was used to tell stories and many of those songs and their stories live on today. So many of these musical stories are still around because they were passed from generation to generation like a precious gift!
This youtube video and the following comments are examples of just that. “Water Come A Me Eye” just happens to be used in our YellowRound! When our kids hear it in the future, they will think back to music class and what a terrific time it was with Mom, Dad or that special person with whom they shared their class. Hopefully, they’ll remember that was when their love of music began!
