Knight, Frankie
Singing, dancing, playing, moving, smiling, laughing, kids, you name it. If there is music involved, Frankie Knight loves it. A born performer, Frankie learned at an early age that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well. At the age of five she surprised her parents on a trip to the local music store by sitting down at one of the pianos on display and playing the song they had just heard on the car radio. That week she started taking piano lessons and never looked back. Adding composition, dance, voice, violin, organ, percussion, and stage acting to her repertoire as well as several composition and performance awards she pursued a music performance degree and a career in music. She has performed and competed around the world but her favorite musical performance memory was playing with the Utah Symphony at Zion’s National Park Amphitheater when she was only twelve years old.
After that experience she was so inspired that she started teaching her own private piano lessons and had a thriving studio until she left for college. As she was preparing for her graduate studies on the east coast, a small private school in CA, Berkeley Hall, heard of her love of music and her ability to sweep up anyone and everyone into her wake of musical enjoyment. They offered her a job teaching music to their students….she accepted and taught there for eleven years. She left full-time teaching when she started her family and is now teaching piano privately out of her home studio. She wanted to instill a love of music into her own children so, as soon as she could, she found a local mommy-and-me music class. She and her two kids loved the curriculum so much that when the original music teacher announced she was retiring, Frankie couldn’t resist stepping in. Now a licensed Kids’ MusicRound teacher, Frankie is continuing her life’s goal of instilling an insatiable love for music in children and adults alike.
