This is Miss Marilyn's 20th year of teaching Kids' MusicRound in Yardley and Newtown and keeps loving every minute of it. In Yardley I am in the Fire Hall across from McCaffreys supermarket and in Newtown I rent space at Shir Ami.

Join Miss Marilyn in Yardley and Newtown for a semester of singing, laughing, dancing, instrument playing, award-winning music and movement experience for your little one. Through play and fun we will begin your child's musical journey so important to their musical and full development. Preschooler Music Class (Ages 3 - 4 with Adult) Yardley: Yardley/Makefield Fire Company 652 Stony Hill Rd., Yardley, PA 19067 A mommy-and-me-style class designed to promote basic music skills in preschool children through music and movement. This class is designed for the older child who has already had a few semesters of a music class. Since 3- and 4-year-olds are still developing their basic music skills, class activities will be similar to those for mixed-ages described above. However, because older children are more willing to lead activities, volunteer suggestions, and create their own tonal and rhythm patterns, this class has a different dynamic than the mixed-age grouping. As in all KMR classes, a parent or special adult will accompany this child to class for interactive music play. Younger siblings are allowed in this class as registered students. She plays the cello and has performed with various orchestras. For many years in New York, she worked, managing David Bowie and John Cougar Mellencamp and was busy in the rock music world. After having her second daughter, Marilyn moved out of New York and began a new life teaching music in a local preschool and discovered what a joy it was working with music and young children. She continued her early childhood music training at the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton. She has the time of her life running Kids' MusicRound classes. It has meant so much to make a difference in the lives of so many amazing people.
MusicRound® (Newborn - 5) Newtown: Shir Ami 101 Richboro Rd., Newtown, PA 18940 A music and movement class for infants, toddlers and preschoolers that includes activities designed to promote musical learning across ages. In our signature mixed-age class, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers along with their parents or caregivers join together as a musical community. Activities include playing rhythm instruments, having fun with finger plays, and singing and dancing to music of different meters and tonalities. A mixed-age setting allows children the freedom to develop basic skills like singing in tune and keeping an accurate beat at their own pace. Since there is no set age for these skills to be acquired, these classes provide a non-performance opportunity for musical exploration that the whole family can enjoy.
